Historical Figures

of Mezal Taroc

  • Arbucker was Veneer, or emperor, of the great Beaver Empire from 899-924. He is revered by critters of every species as a revolutionary. His irrigation projects, including the wondrous Alderwood Dam, induced a renaissance throughout all of Mezal Taroc. Veneer Arbucker’s great dam stood until 1399, when it was destroyed by rodents of the prairies desperate for water.

  • The Great King, the Bog Barbarian, the Rat Killer; he was called many things. However, no name was as iconic as the one he chose for himself. King Turgidian, the Elevated, ruled Greenmarsh during the Great War. His achievements turned a simple swamp kingdom into the most powerful Groundling nation of the age. In retrospect, historians view Turgidian as a provocative, controversial figure. The bloodshed of the Great War ultimately shifted Greenmarsh values from militaristic to culture-loving.

In this royal portrait, King Turgidian is depicted holding a spear and a tuft of crimson bristle, which grows only in the areas surrounding Murmur Basin.
